GESTRA Blowdown (TDS, LEVEL)

GESTRA Intermittent Bottom Blowdown

Manual or automatic, programme-controlled intermittent blowdown of land and marine boilers, in particular boilers operating without constant supervision in accordance with TRD 604 (German regulations concerning the operation of steam boilers).
  • GESTRA rapid-action intermittent blowdown valves ensure an optimim sludge removal by rapid opening of their full cross-sectional area.

  • GESTRA rapid-action intermittent blowdown valves produce a maximum closing force, so that an optimum tightness is obtained.

  • GESTRA rapid-action intermittent blowdown valves are manufactured of high-quality materials ensuring a specially high resistance against corrosive and abrasive materials.

Gestra TDS Continuous Blowdown

The most effective blowdown (dissolved-solids removal) is obtained by a continuous process so that the minimum quantity of water is discharged from the boilder. GESTRA continuous blowdown valves (Reactomats) type BA or BAE were specially designed for this purpose. These robust valves are of compact design and easy to operate. The essential part of the valve is the GESTRA multi-stage nozzle or  - for large blowdown rates - the radial stage noozle serving as discharge and control unit. The noozle allows the water withdraws from the boiler to expand and flash gradually across each successive orifice area and expansion chamber. The flashing effect reduces the blowdown velocity and virtually eliminates the risk of wire drawing. The noise level of the valves is therefore very low.

GESTRA blowdown valves have proven themselves for decades. The high quality standard is guaranteed by our production methods and quality assurance.
